Osho Festival at Zorba the Buddha
Osho – the master of masters, a modern day mystic whose wisdom, rebellious spirit and humor has transformed the lives of millions around the globe. His teachings liberated people from the shackles of religion and conformity. Osho coined the concept of a new man – Zorba the Buddha, one who celebrates and meditates.
Osho’s teachings are an amalgamation of the healing arts of the East and modern therapies of the West. The festival at Zorba the Buddha, a gratitude to the enlightened master, gave me a taste of his work: Tantra, Zen, Sufism, esoteric sciences, and centering techniques, breathwork, yoga, biodanza, heart dance, and many Osho active meditations. In the evenings, Osho’s discourse in the White Robe gathering was particularly therapeutic. Zorba the Buddha, is a conscious space for spiritual and artistic events. I stayed there for a month to volunteer in the team which was an opportunity to enjoy community living, be close to nature, eat organic vegetarian food and also make new friends.
Apart from Zorba the Buddha, Isha Foundation in chattarpur organises monthly full moon evenings for chanting and bi-monthly yoga and meditation days. For the ones who are looking for something within the city, Aurobindo Ashram is open every morning for yoga and meditation.
