Getaway to Amanbagh | Garden of Peace

The name ‘Amanbagh’ translates to ‘a peaceful garden’ in Hindi. Situated in Alwar, the space is an oasis for the world-weary soul as it invites you to pause. We took out time to stroll through the lush expanses of the retreat that are a treat to any nature lover or seeker of respite. The architecture is traditionally inspired yet refreshingly modern. Inspite of the imposing historical landscape it is set in, we made the space our own, and discovered corners for peaceful reflection.

The cupolas and rows of columns lend antiquated charm to the delightfully spacious pavilions. Plentiful light throughout the various spaces create some pristine moments during sunrise and sundown. One could indulge in a siesta with the chirping of birds. One could take long walks through the gardens or sit beneath a tree with a book. Or play peek a boo with light and shadow through the delicate crevices on the walls.

To reach the retreat, we journeyed through the countryside locales and the wilds of the Aravallis, such as the Sariska Tiger Reserve and ruins of Bhangarh. Crossing pastel shaded homes and colourful turbaned men, we reached the terracotta villas, soothing our spirits.
